Gary Gladstone is a businessman, entrepreneur, community advocate and life long Liberal. He has helped raise millions of dollars for community organizations and institutions in addition to raising their public profile.

For more than 20 years, Gary has been involved in Liberal politics at local, provincial and national levels. He was Justin Trudeau’s candidate in Thornhill in the last election.

Gary is currently working with Reena, a charitable organization that supports those with development disabilities. Through his work he has raised millions of dollars for the construction of new housing projects and spearheaded efforts in getting recognition in the National Housing Strategy and National Dementia Strategy for those with developmental disabilities.

Another successful effort involves his work with the Kenora Chiefs Advisory where he has helped raise over $1 Million to support their nine First Nations communities and has spearheaded the acquisition process and potential rebuild of the first long term care facility built on Indigenous lands. He has also been instrumental in raising the concerns of Indigenous people in Ottawa.

Gary’s volunteer activities have continued throughout his career. He helped establish a group to aid Syrian refugees settling in Toronto. He has served as a member of the Justice of the Peace Advisory Committee and served as Chair of the Ontario Trillium Grant Review Team in York Simcoe.

Gary was honoured with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and is a recipient of the Gold Key Award from BBYO International for volunteer services. He has served as Chairman, Mayfair/Delta Bingo Downsview Charities Association, Vice-Chairman, Charities First Ontario, and a Board Member of Jewish Campus Services amongst many other community involvements.

Married for thirty years to Melanie, they have raised two sons, Simon and Ryan and enjoy spending time with their English Springer Spaniel dog Rex.
